Clients can expect to better understand how their symptoms have developed, the mechanisms in the mind that result in these symptoms and how to intervene with effective strategies.
We employ cognitive behavioural therapy, in combination with aspects of Mindfulness, Positive Psychology and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy in our treatment approach. Individual Therapy is provided for the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, post-traumatic stress disorder), body image disturbance, relationship difficulties and personality disorders. Resilience Counselling is available for coping with workplace stress, and adapting to the the demands of high intensity professional careers, managing burnout, dealing with low life fulfillment, academic stress, and increasing motivational skills in maintaining physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.
Children’s Programs offer innovative and engaging therapy activities that are designed to make children's experience in therapy fun and rewarding. From the first session, practitioners will motivate, incentivize and reassure while providing structure and direction. Through the use of 3D models, games, quests and point systems, our goal is to get children excited about learning new skills to assist them to feel better and achieve therapy goals. We treat: childhood anxiety disorders (separation anxiety, school refusal, generalized anxiety, phobias, adjustment after divorce, and peer relation difficulties), mood related issues such as childhood depression, intense sadness, anger and related behavioural disorders, as well as gender identity concerns.
Individual therapy is provided using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness training. The therapeutic approach is individually tailored to the adolescent’s comfort level, ranging from support and talk based treatment to more active teaching of skills and application of techniques. Youth therapy focuses on building emotional intelligence, emotional resilience and emotion regulation skills. Treatment is provided for anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, panic disorder, social anxiety, agoraphobia, and post-traumatic stress disorder), depression and mood problems anger, body image disturbance, self esteem issues and gender Identity concerns (practitioners are also members of WPATH)
